Morts I would suggest that Fatal Nostalgia bring to post-metal what My Dying Bride have always brought to doom. They are able to meld beauty and darkness into a single emotion-filled entity for the listener to explore.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that both bands sound alike, however I believe it would be easy for a fan of one to be a fan of both. Awesome stuff! Favorite track: Moonlit Ascension.

WelkinDust Amazing "blackgaze"-type material... Intricate melodies woven with heavy guitar riffs -- just my thing. I love the layering. All instrumental but startlingly beautiful. Favorite track: Moonlit Ascension.

"Nocturnes" is an album dedicated to the natural beauty and emotional connotations of night. The album is also inspired by nature, nostalgia, melancholy, and so forth. Whereas previous releases have only briefly touched upon metal, this album is much more metal sounding. The album artwork is a mixture of "Academic Study of an Adolescent Boy" by Horace Vernet and "Nocturne" by James Abbott McNeill Whistler.
